The role
What will your job look like?
As a Patent Engineer and trainee on the path to becoming a European Patent Attorney, you play an important role in bringing innovation to market.
You will deal with varied patent cases across a wide variety of clients. From day one, you will be actively involved in the day-to-day business. You advise clients and help them protect their inventions, actively supporting them in managing and developing their patent portfolio. Your deep technical understanding of physics and engineering is your core asset in this role.
Your team — You will be supervised by highly experienced Patent Attorneys, qualified across multiple European jurisdictions. You will work primarily within your technical domain while also gaining exposure to adjacent fields.
You will furthermore:
- Build meaningful trust relationships with clients and serve as a reliable point of contact
- Advise clients on all IP assets, including strategic advice and administrative procedures to obtain protection of their IP rights
- Represent and defend clients' interests in administrative or judicial procedures
- Actively take part in company projects and Calysta's strategic initiatives
- Work in accordance with Calysta's guidelines and principles
- Identify potential new clients and contribute to presenting Calysta to the market
Your background
Your profile
You hold a Master's degree or Ph.D. in one of the following disciplines:

Applied Physics
Electrical Engineering
Electronics
Mechanical Engineering
Computer Science
Or equivalent
Languages
Perfect command of Dutch (native) · Excellent English (written & spoken) · French is an asset but not required
