The role
What will your job look like?
As a Paralegal, you make sure our clients' IP files run correctly and on time — so our attorneys can focus on the content, and our clients can count on flawless follow-up.
You handle the administrative and procedural side of a wide variety of IP files, for a wide variety of clients. From day one, you are actively involved in the day-to-day business: you deal with the formalities before the IP offices, record deadlines accurately and keep in close contact with our attorneys, foreign associates and clients.
Your team — You work closely with our IP Attorneys and are part of a team of experienced paralegal colleagues.
You will furthermore:
- Prepare and file applications for IP rights with the IP offices and through foreign associates
- Follow up on procedures from filing to registration or grant, including renewals and the maintenance of the rights
- Record deadlines accurately in our docketing system
- Keep case files complete and up to date in our file management system
- Correspond with IP offices, foreign associates and clients on the formal aspects of the files
- Order searches and watches, and report the results to clients
- Follow up on the formal side of oppositions and litigation
- Handle recordals such as transfers and changes of name or address, and take over portfolios from previous firms
- Prepare quotes, cost estimates and invoices in line with clients' instructions, in consultation with the attorney
- Actively take part in internal projects and help improve our ways of working
